It is heartwarming to visit and work at the Hacienda. Directors Juan and Emma continue to make positive changes in the hope that the children will continue to thrive under their care and guidance. There are currently 55+ children living at the Hacienda, and while there is plenty of noise and activity, there is also psychological counseling, medical care, and regular prayer and worship together.
Capstone was happy to be part of finishing a peaceful chapel for them this year as well as making several other improvements to the home. Team members always enjoy playing with the kids when we are there working, and the kids’ laughter and love steals into our hearts and accompanies us home. Despite the hardships many of the kids have endured, they are still able to experience the unbridled joy of childhood. We love being a part of that.
All “our” kids continue to need prayers and support. We hope they can all be given the tools and the love they need to succeed in breaking the cycle of poverty from which they came.
